Saturday Sculpting - Bunnies and Eggs

This is a family oriented workshop but everyone is welcome - beginners welcome - all ages class.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

NOTE: This program is tailored to families with kids about 8 and up.

Tiny people have tiny hands and can find it difficult to work with our clay if younger than 8.

When:

Saturday, March 28th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Note: If attention spans aren't quite that long, you don't have to stay for the whole program. Alternatively, the Miller Point Peace Park is across the street for a stroll if a movement break is needed to refocus.

What to expect:

Students will spend the afternoon building with clay, sculpting, building with slabs and adding a little colour with underglazes. We'll demonstrate how to make bunny and egg shapes, how to texture and add colour! This is an Easter themed workshop, but by all means, let your imagination fly, we never stop creativity from flourishing. We prefer to guide your ideas to align with what the clay wants to do.

Following the class the instructors will apply a clear glaze or a food safe glaze if the pieces are meant to be used. Pieces will be fired in the kiln and students will be notified 2-4 weeks from the last class when pieces are ready to be picked up.

All materials provided.

  • Stacey McRae has been working with clay since 2011, and a little longer if you count dabbling. She received her BFA in Painting from AUArts in 2012. In 2016, she and a group of community members, revitalized a community pottery studio. She has been teaching clay ever since. She is a hand building potter, which means she builds with her hands, not with a potters wheel, allowing for versatility of form.

  • Pottery Classes Return Policy

Thank you for choosing our pottery classes! We strive to provide an enriching and creative experience for all our participants. Please read our return policy below to understand how we handle cancellations and refunds.

No Returns or Refunds for Classes

Due to the nature of our pottery classes and the preparation involved, we do not accept returns or issue refunds for classes once purchased. Each class is carefully planned, and materials are prepared in advance to ensure the best experience for our students.

    Why We Don’t Offer Returns:

    • Class Size & Scheduling: We limit the number of participants in each class to ensure a personalized and hands-on learning experience. When a spot is reserved, it prevents others from attending.
    • Materials & Preparation: We order specific materials for each student, including clay, glazes, and tools, which cannot be reused or resold if a student cancels.

In Case of Emergencies or Unexpected Circumstances:

We understand that life happens! If you are unable to attend a class due to an emergency or unavoidable circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible. While we cannot offer a refund, we may be able to offer the option to reschedule your class for a future date, depending on availability.

    Thank You for Your Understanding:

By registering for our pottery classes, you’re helping to support our small business and ensuring that we can continue to offer high-quality learning experiences. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to the process of learning and creating!
